Taught in a unique setting in Menorca, known for its maritime landscapes and ideal sailing conditions, this course offers personalized learning, with a maximum of 4 participants per group. This ensures exclusive attention to help you develop your skills in each maneuver and understand the full operation of a sailboat, guaranteeing a unique and safe experience.
Throughout the training, you will practice in various real-life situations, taking on different roles within the crew so you can master both the helm and the most complex maneuvers. You will not only learn to sail but experience being part of a crew!
By the end of this course, you will enhance your knowledge and skills as a sailboat navigator, allowing you to face any challenge at sea with confidence.
What's included in this activity?
- 2-day practical sailing workshop. Boarding on Saturday at 09:30h and disembarking on Sunday at 17:00h.
- Sailing along the northern coast of Menorca. Departure from Fornells Bay.
- Maximum groups of 4 people.
- Professional skipper specialized in sailing.
- Accommodation aboard (1 night) with breakfast.
- 2 lunches. Simple meals adapted to the sailboat.
- Time for swimming and enjoying the sea.
- Delivery of the sailing manual (digital format).

Course Objectives:
Understand how a sailboat works and the crucial role of the sails. Learn how the sails work and how they affect navigation. You will understand the aerodynamics of the sails and the theory of wind flows, two key concepts to becoming a high-level sailor.
- Trim the sails in different conditions. We will teach
you how to adjust the sails depending on the different points of sail
(close-hauled, beam reach, broad reach, and running) and wind intensity.
You will master trimming to optimize the sailboat's performance in any
situation.
- Advanced sailing techniques. Learn how to handle the sailboat in different wind angles. You will practice using reefing lines and furling to adapt to different wind conditions, ensuring maximum stability and speed at all times. We will practice tacking and gybing maneuvers to perform them safely in any situation.
- Balance and comfort on board. Safety and comfort in sailing are essential. We will teach you how to balance the sailboat correctly to keep it stable and easy to handle, even in the most challenging conditions.
- Trimming maneuvers and use of winches and cleats. You will learn how to perform efficient trimming maneuvers and how to properly use winches and cleats, essential tools for adjusting the sails quickly and accurately.
- Coastal navigation and anchoring maneuvers. Coastal navigation has its own specifics. We will teach you how to perform anchoring maneuvers safely and how to plan your coastal route while considering environmental factors.
- Safety maneuvers on board. In this practical course, you will learn essential maneuvers such as "heaving to" and how to react effectively in emergency situations like a man overboard. You will be prepared for any contingency.
This course is ideal for intermediate and advanced levels.
